Please nominate someone you know to receive the 2009 Advocate for Justice Award!

The Carter-Alexander Institute for Law and Justice is now seeking nominations for its annual Advocate for Justice Award. The nominee should be someone who, in the ordinary course of their life or work, has fought for justice on behalf of one of the following populations of people:

• The Poor
• Children
• Juvenile Delinquents
• Forced Slaves
• Forced Prostitutes
• Women
• Homeless mentally ill

The Carter-Alexander Institute is a local nonprofit organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is our desire to see justice come to the oppressed and forgotten of society through policy-level changes to oppressive systems of our society. We seek to accomplish this through conducting scholarly research and writing projects, community education, and creative and innovative solutions to problems of injustice.

If you would like to nominate someone for this honor, please email a short (under one page) description of that person’s activities in seeking justice for the oppressed or forgotten of society to carter.alexander.institute@gmail.com by September 4, 2009.
